Samantha Gracie to Join Jason Eisener at Sundance Film Festival

Samantha Gracie, one to watch in 2013.

Halifax, NS- Halifax actress/singer Samantha Gracie is heading to the Sundance Film Festival later this month with filmmaker, Jason Eisener and producer, Rob Cotterill to showcase her lead role in Eisener’s latest project, a segment for the anthology feature S-V/H/S.  This is Gracie’s first role in a feature film and she was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Dartmouth's own, director of Hobo with a Shotgun, Jason Eisener.  S-V/H/S is a found footage anthology which also features segments by Eduardo Sanchez, Gareth Evans and Adam Wingard.  Sanchez created the groundbreaking Blair Witch Project in 1999, Evans was writer-director of The Raid, and Wingard directed the much anticipated You’re Next, runner-up for the People’s Choice Award at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. S-V/H/S is the sequel to last year’s Sundance hit V/H/S.

“It was a thrill to work with Jason, Rob and the cast on this project and I am so looking forward to the screening in Sundance, this will be an opportunity of a lifetime for me,” Gracie commented.
Gracie heads to Sundance on January 18th for a week long schedule promoting the film which has its world premiere on January 19th as part of the hugely popular midnight section of films at the festival.

Gracie, the daughter of award winning recording artist, John Gracie grew up in the entertainment industry and clearly has inherited a love for the performing arts.  “Since graduating from university last year, I was fortunate to get a lot of work in film & music, it’s where my passion lies so it is the right time for me to give it a shot full time,” said Gracie.  Over the past month, she was on tour with her father, and released the single, “What are You Doing New Year’s Eve” to national radio.

Not only is she a rising star in movies, she has one velvet smooth tone to her voice. But don't take our word for just take a listen and you will agree. A star from afar is born, and Utah's Sundance Film Fest was her launching pad.
